If All could visit the landfills and breathe its air, listen to and observe its trash for a couple of hours, I believe this would change people’s consumptive behavior.

Fatric Bewong is an interdisciplinary artist who lives and work in Accra. Bewong studied at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology graduating with  a Bachelor of Fine Art  and at the University of Hartford graduating with Interdisciplinary Masters of Fine Art  respectively.

Bewong sculpts with reused materials with the intention to revalue them as formal objects, colourful and plentiful, sublime in their potential scale and scope. Through photographs and video of herself dressed in the guise of Earth Mother (a figure typically associated with healing) she re-contextualizes traditional Ghanaian proverbs to confer meaning from traumas to earth and all of its inhabitants caused by consumption-induced climate change.
